Consumers worldwide want frictionless online experiences without sacrificing the security of personal information, according to Ping Identity’s 2022 Consumer Survey. In 2023, interest in identity proofing will continue rising in heavily regulated industries, such as banking. According to the Ping survey, 63% of consumers feel better about a service that uses MFA and 63% think banks and medical sites should have the same easy login as social media. As consumer confidence in identity, security and privacy erodes, federal and state laws will drive identity verification into wider public awareness.
