Splunk is pushing hard to fold observability, security, and agentic AI operations into one plane, and Cisco is bringing that toolkit on-prem. A second open-source LLM for telemetry data and a new Token Meter tool round out Splunk's play — but is unification really the answer, or a vendor shortcut?
