VMware Platform Choices, Codex Expansion and Cryptographic AI Proof

Broadcom is adding vSphere Express for smaller IT teams that need core virtualization capabilities without the full VMware Cloud Foundation platform. Meanwhile, Mirantis is offering a service to help organizations migrate VMware workloads to OpenStack for Kubernetes. The panel weighs staying, moving and the operational costs behind either choice.
OpenAI has announced plans to acquire Pierre Computer and bring its Code Storage technology into Codex after the deal closes. The move could extend Codex beyond code generation and sharpen its competition with GitHub. The panel examines what changes when an AI coding provider also supplies more of the infrastructure around the code. Anthropic’s FlashProve prototype uses cryptographic proofs to test whether an output came from a specified model computation without revealing proprietary weights. It demonstrates a way to check model identity, not a guarantee that an answer is true. High compute overhead and limited context remain important barriers to practical deployment.

Alan Shimel argues technology is on today's ballot in two ways: the political spending of tech leaders and local votes on technology development. He cites The Guardian's analysis of FEC records showing about $446 million from Elon Musk to Republican-aligned groups, and Ballotpedia's count of 41 d...

AI Infrastructure Shortages, Biotech ...
IDC expects AI infrastructure shortages to persist through 2027 as demand outpaces power, memory and advanced-chip capacity. Lower costs per AI action may encourage more usage rather than reduce total spending. The panel considers what those constraints mean for enterprise deployment. Anthropic’s...
