Is your smart TV secretly recording your conversations even when turned off?

In this post-Labor Day episode of the Tech Field Day News Rundown, hosts Tom Hollingsworth and Alastair Cooke break down the top enterprise tech and AI headlines.

They discuss Broadcom pulling public VMware VDDK downloads and creating hurdles for migration tools, Anthropic scrapping its $6B Descartes buyout in favor of a partnership, and Solo.io open-sourcing its Agent Desktop to solve AI tool sprawl on developer laptops.

Plus, the duo covers Kansas cities fighting citizen-led data center bans in court, UN calls for binding AI regulations, NEC pausing quantum hardware development, and a concerning security investigation revealing LG Smart TVs harvest audio and network data even offline.
