Social Media Reform, Critical PHP Flaws and AI Chip Competition

A New Mexico court has ordered Meta to pay $25 billion over privacy practices connected to Cambridge Analytica, and Meta plans to appeal. The panel examines what accountability should mean for social platforms and how the debate over Section 230 reform fits into that wider question.
Researchers used frontier AI to uncover and develop exploits for two critical PHP vulnerabilities. Patches are available, but organizations need to find affected deployments, apply the fixes and verify the result as AI changes the speed of vulnerability research. Google’s TorchTPU and Amazon’s TorchNeuron aim to make PyTorch workloads easier to run on alternatives to NVIDIA hardware. The panel looks at software compatibility, migration effort and workload-level testing, rather than assuming a new backend automatically delivers lower costs.
Hosts: Mike Vizard and Alan Shimel.
Guests: Jon Swartz, Drew Gutstein, Jaime Hampton and Guy Currier.
